Hi Adam,
The mulcher utilises the direct drive system of the FM6DD wood chipper counterpart but integrates a grated drum design which ensures that material stays in the drum until it’s smaller than 10mm before exiting the chute. Teamed with a more vertical design, this enables it to shred and mulch wet and softer material.

I thought I had found it easy to assemble the machine, but the outlet pipe fell off! I was concerned that I would have to remove the engine in order to reinsert it but they were quick to help and tell me that by rotating the drum it could be reinstalled and now all is well. The machine is smaller than I thought it would be, and the hopper entry holes are far too small to take the waste without fiddling about and reducing the size of the material put in. Seemingly for some other markets the CE plate is not fitted, and I am certain that many users will remove this safety device from their machines. Also, I don’t find it that easy to manoeuvre in the garden and it would really benefit from a handle on the hopper . After just 30 minutes of use I checked the blades and was surprised to find they had become pitted even though I was chopping up newly cut material. However on the positive side they are still doing their job. I shall be interested to see how long they last before replacement is needed – they are of course reversible.

Hi Andrew, The mulcher is capable of processing wood branches etc, however, the material produced will be a mulch 10mm down. If you wish to create wood chips from the machine, then you will require the chipping accessory which will be available for the machine around May (2021). The mulcher is capable of mulching pretty much any wet or dry waste, such as paper, cardboard, ivy, nettles, dead plants, fruit or vegetables with ease. We are currently working on a video demonstration for the product and this should be available soon.
